October 7, 2018 —
This past Sunday, the Inaugural E. PA-NJ Fold of Honor Chapter Red, White and Blue Golf Tournament for the benefit of the Folds of Honor Foundation was hosted at Southmoore Golf Course in Bath, PA. Seventeen teams comprised of 65 golfers enjoyed beautiful weather, a wonderful rendition of our National Anthem by Lexi Connolly (an extraordinarily talented Senior from Freedom High School), a multitude of on-course contests and competitions, a great round of golf and a wonderful dinner reception provided by Carrabba’s Italian Restaurant.
Special guest Samantha Novak, who received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University in New York with the support of the Folds of Honor Foundation, shared the story of her father Specialist John Novak of the United States Army who was a Purple Heart recipient and who ultimately lost his life six years ago due to exposure to Agent Orange during his service to our country. Today, Samantha utilizes her degree to fight for social justice and be an advocate for those in need.
Special thanks is extended to our community of supporters without whom this event would not have been possible including major sponsors Coordinated Health, Chevy 21, Carrabba’s Italian Grille, Budweiser and local distributor Penn Beer, and Southmoore Golf Course. We also thank our hole sponsors including Embassy Bank and Lafayette Ambassador Bank, and additional support provided by Golf Galaxy, Just Born and the many other gifts and donations provided by local organizations and companies from throughout our region. We greatly appreciate your help in making this event so very special!
Special thanks also goes to the staff at Folds of Honor National and Jim Ravella for their support, and also our members and committee for their tireless efforts and commitment toward the success of this special inaugural event for our Chapter including Jen Carbone; Fred Koeck; John Suter, PGA; Jim Muschlitz, PGA and his team at Southmoore Golf Course; Nick DeTura; Dave Norton and special volunteer Alex Suter!
